Getting images ready to load to a website
List containing some helpful tips for when preparing pictures and images to load to a website.
- Make sure all pictures and images are in the correct orientation.
- Save pictures and images at resolution of 72dpi.
- Save pictures and images no larger than maximum viewing size. The maximum viewing size will generally be between 300 to 600px wide.
- If images are pictures in JPEGs (jpg) format then usually a compression of 70 to 80% is sufficient.
- Make file extension type name all lower case, for example use ".jpg" not ".JPG".
