Submitted by Matt on Sun, 13/12/2009 - 1:14pm

List containing some helpful tips for when preparing pictures and images to load to a website.

  • Make sure all pictures and images are in the correct orientation.
  • Save pictures and images at resolution of 72dpi.
  • Save pictures and images no larger than maximum viewing size. The maximum viewing size will generally be between 300 to 600px wide.
  • If images are pictures in JPEGs (jpg) format then usually a compression of 70 to 80% is sufficient.
  • Make file extension type name all lower case, for example use ".jpg" not ".JPG".
