To set up a Facebook page visit Facebook - Create a Page. Select the icon that best matches what you want to promote on Facebook and complete the details.

Create a Page

The first step when using Facebook - Create a Page to set-up your Facebook page will be selecting which category your page fits into. Categories include local business, places, organisations, brands, products, causes and community projects.

When you have selected the category you are next required to complete some forms with details and information about your page.

The basic information section contains details about your page

Facebook page name - You will need to give your Facebook page a name. For a business consider your business name.

Location & contact details - These are optional and should be completed as required.

About - Information you enter in the about section will be shown on the left-hand side and on the info page. The about section should contain a sentence describing what it is that your page is about.

Description - Information you enter in the description section will be shown on the info page.

Profile picture section is where you put your logo

Select a picture or image to be shown on your pages. The picture is shown in the top left-hand of the page. If setting up the page for a business use your logo.

Manage Permissions section

Visit the manage permission section and select sensible settings for your page. If you plan on making posts to your Facebook page set the default landing page to wall.

Add an app

Adding an app to your Facebook page is optional and should be done if you want more control over what people can do and how they can experience your Facebook page. Facebook pages can link to website pages outside of Facebook.

What this means is that you can create a page on your website that can be put inside your Facebook page. This page might be a form, a splash page describing a reward for liking, or a page showing some tabulated information in a report.

In a nut shell to get your website page into your Facebook page visit the Facebook developers page and set-up a Facebook app, when you set-up the app complete the page tab section on the basic app settings page. The page tab section can contain a link to your website. Whilst you are setting your app up I have found it is a go idea to enable iframe page tab on the advanced settings page. When you have completed setting up your app select add to my page on the view your app profile page and follow the instructions.

Your website page should now be viewable on your Facebook page. If you are setting up a new front page for your Facebook page visit the manage permissions section of the Facebook page and set the app to be your default landing page.

You should now have a Facebook page

When you have complete the above you should now have a Facebook page that you can share.
